Solution 2: Make a new folder for the company file

  • Contact your IT support if you do not have permission to access the digital computer.
  • Copy .qbw file in multi-user mode in the new folder.
  • Open the company file.

  • Press Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run command.
  • Type Control Panel and press OK.
  • Select the System and Security option and then Windows Firewall and Network Protection.
  • Click on the Advanced Settings tab and then the Inbound rule.

  • Select New Rule and a port and press Next tab.
  • Make sure you select the correct TCP Option.
  • Enter the port of your QuickBooks Desktop program’s year version.
  • Click on next and restart QuickBooks Desktop.

Solution 4: Configure QuickBooks hosting settings

  • Open QuickBooks on all computers configured as multi-user.
  • Tap the File menu and then on the Utilities option.
  • Discontinue/stop hosting multi-user access configuration.

  • Next, select Host multi-user access (or turn on hosting via file in one system).

Verify QuickBooks services

  • Open Run command and type MSC in the box and press OK.
  • Find Services.msc in the Windows search bar and find QuickBooksDBXX service in the services window.
